Last Friday the students and staff of Lewistown CUSD 97 hosted and honored the local veterans in honor of Veteran's Day. Elementary Principal Joey McLaughlin lead the organization of the event and it was held in the Lewistown High School Gymnasium.
Veterans were provided breakfast and were then treated to a ceremony. Students prepared speeches, Mr. Matt Peirce provided the keynote address, the high school band performed a composition of Armed Forces songs and the students of the elementary school sang a couple of veteran-themed songs.
Lewistown is, and always will be, proud of the local veterans who have served our country. We thank you for your service.
